Kajang, Malaysia, 21 August 2019<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 Following the third Vehicle Safety Course held in Bangkok a few weeks ago, the New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) will be organizing the fourth course in Manila, Philippines this September. Similar to the previous courses, ASEAN NCAP is collaborating with several organizations to provide the participants with various knowledge pertaining to road and vehicle safety. The partners involved are from Legal Engagement Advocating Development and Reform (LEADER), Automobile Association Philippines (AAP), World Health Organization, Autoliv, Continental, Bridgestone, Denso, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota and also Global NCAP. The safety course in Manila will cover the theme on Passenger Car Safety<\/strong> and will be held at the following details.<\/p>\n

During the course, participants will be introduced to vehicle safety technologies both passive and active safety. Passive safety will cover vehicle crashworthiness and restraint system such as airbags and seatbelts. Active safety system will focus on crash avoidance technologies for example electronic stability control (ESC), autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and several others technologies. Therefore, the objective of this course is to have participants understand about the details of vehicle safety and how the technologies will be able to prevent collision or reduce the severity of injury if an accident happened. Furthermore, the course will include an overview of the New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) and regulation.<\/p>\n
