{"id":4245,"date":"2018-07-16T16:29:32","date_gmt":"2018-07-16T08:29:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aseancap.org\/v2\/?p=4245"},"modified":"2018-07-16T16:29:32","modified_gmt":"2018-07-16T08:29:32","slug":"forgotten-child-in-the-car-seminar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aseancap.org\/v4\/2018\/07\/16\/forgotten-child-in-the-car-seminar\/","title":{"rendered":"Forgotten Child In The Car Seminar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Kajang, 16 July 2018<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 Incidences of children being accidentally left in cars has driven the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) and the New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) to organize a seminar to present and discuss on the safety issues of children in vehicles. The \u2018Forgotten Child in the Car Seminar\u2019 was organized last Friday, 13<sup>th<\/sup> July 2018 with the objective to create awareness on the risk of heatstroke towards children that were accidentally left inside a car. It also aims to discuss preventive actions regarding this issue including the promotion of any available technologies that could prevent such tragic incident from happening.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The seminar\u2019s presenters consisted of individuals from various background and organizations. They were from officers from ASEAN NCAP and MIROS, Public Health Physician from the Ministry of Health Malaysia, Child Passenger Safety Consultant of Childline Malaysia, General Manager of Nissan Motor Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. and Global Regulatory Strategist from IEE SA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A total of 85 participants attended the seminar that lasted for half a day. The seminar was opened by Dr. Siti Zaharah binti Ishak, Director-General of MIROS. In her opening remark, Dr. Siti Zaharah mentioned there should be a concerted effort from various parties.
