{"id":4092,"date":"2018-02-28T17:20:03","date_gmt":"2018-02-28T09:20:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aseancap.org\/v2\/?p=4092"},"modified":"2018-02-28T17:20:03","modified_gmt":"2018-02-28T09:20:03","slug":"asean-ncap-arty-mind-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aseancap.org\/v4\/2018\/02\/28\/asean-ncap-arty-mind-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"ASEAN NCAP ARTY MIND CHALLENGE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP), the ninth edition to the world\u2019s NCAP family, is targeted to elevate vehicle safety standards, raise consumer awareness and thus encourage a market for safer vehicles in the ASEAN region. The establishment of ASEAN NCAP in December 2011 marked a new milestone of vehicle safety for the region in response to the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As part of\u00a0of ASEAN NCAP initiative to promote safer vehicles particularly the star rating assessment of newly launched models amongst the students in the ASEAN region, we are organizing the <strong>ASEAN NCAP Arty Mind Challenge<\/strong> to get students to understand the roles of ASEAN NCAP in our everyday lives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The categories of the Challenge are as follows.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Animation<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Motion Graphic<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>A. General Rules and Regulation<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>1. All entries must adhere to the theme of the Challenge.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>THEME: \u201cUse of Car Safety Technology(ies) for Road Safety\u201d<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>2. Submission of entry must be submitted using an online registration form comprising:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\">\n<li>Title of the video<\/li>\n<li>Name of participant (if individual)<\/li>\n<li>Name of each group member (if in a group, does not exceed 5 members)<\/li>\n<li>Full address<\/li>\n<li>Participant contact number<\/li>\n<li>Email address<\/li>\n<li>State the aim of the artwork video in not more than 50 words<\/li>\n<li>Link to Submitted Video (We Transfer\/Google Drive)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSfed9tSbyLOehf9J4P20bZEX2vyNFU_F-gZFwDakobvRzR8dQ\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ASEAN NCAP Arty Mind Challenge Online Registration Form<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">3. Each submission must be uploaded using WeTransfer.com or Google Drive with link of the uploaded file to be accompanied in the registration form. The email of the link can also be addressed to salina@miros.gov.my.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">4. Participation can be in any language but the subtitle must be in English.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">5. Submission submitted should be original and creative. They must clearly and strongly convey the theme of the competition. Participants shall not copy or reproduce materials belonging to other persons (including from websites, publications etc.) without permission. Such actions may be unlawful and may result in legal sanctions. If there is a necessity to reproduce materials, participants must obtain written permission from the copyright owners if any copyrighted materials are to be used (including reproduced, adapted, published etc.). This fact should then be notified to ASEAN NCAP.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">6. ASEAN NCAP reserves the rights to amend the rules and regulations and the terms and conditions governing the competition without prior notice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">7. ASEAN NCAP reserves the rights to reject incomplete submissions, or submissions that may be considered inappropriate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">8.\u00a0ASEAN NCAP will not reimburse the participants any costs or expenses incurred as a result of participating in the competition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">9. Participants need to ensure no brands are clearly displayed in the submitted video EXCEPT for ASEAN NCAP purposes. Music or any audio used must be of royalty-free status.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">10. Use of obscene elements, political, religious and racial insults, obscene or vulgar language are strictly forbidden.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">11. Every submitted entry should not win any competition or receive any award prior to this Challenge.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">12.\u00a0Entries failing to comply with any of the competition regulations will be disqualified.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">13. Should any dispute arise in connection with the competition, or with the interpretation or implementation of these rules and regulations, ASEAN NCAP\u2019s decision will be final.<\/p>\n<h5>B. Rights, Obligations and Responsibilities<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1. Each applicant declares to be the author or rights owner of the submitted video(s) and to own all literary, dramatic and musical rights.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2.\u00a0All entries and materials submitted are copyrights of ASEAN NCAP and will not be returned to the participants.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">3.\u00a0ASEAN NCAP reserves the rights to use the videos for strictly non-commercial, educational purposes. ASEAN NCAP has the right to use all materials related to the submission (in whole or part) for promotional purposes.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">C. Format of the Challenge<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>CI. Animation<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>1. Format of the submitted video shall be in WMV or MP4.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2. The produced video must be within the stipulated duration between 3-5 minutes, inclusive of credits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">3. The submitted entries must be in the final edited version. Unfinished videos will not be taken into consideration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">4. Focus area of animation is not limited to as follows.<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Promote car safety in general<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Promote buying safer cars<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Promote one or multiple car safety technology(ies)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Parody of real-life situation relating car safety technologies<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>CII. Graphic Motion<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a01.\u00a0The ASEAN NCAP graphic motion competition is targeting to develop the promotional crash video for ASEAN NCAP, as introduction and closing segments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2. Sample of the <strong>introduction and closing<\/strong> of the current ASEAN NCAP motion graphic can be referred from ASEAN NCAP crash test videos available at the official Youtube channel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">3. The introduction and closing of the motion graphic video should be within 4-6 seconds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">4.\u00a0Format of the submitted video shall be in WMV or MP4.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">5.\u00a0A link to download the Ai file of ASEAN NCAP and stakeholders logos will be provided.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cloud.miros.gov.my\/cloud\/index.php\/s\/z580cQUlEhojYcP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Download ASEAN NCAP &amp; Stakeholders logos<\/a><\/p>\n<h5>D. Judging Criteria<\/h5>\n<p>l. The judging panel for professional jury will consist of:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\">\n<li>Two MIROS senior research officers<\/li>\n<li>One vehicle industry representative\/academician<\/li>\n<li>One media industry representative<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2.\u00a0The judging criteria are based on 50% from public jury and 50% from professional jury.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">3. All submissions will be published on ASEAN NCAP Youtube channel for public jury\u2019s assessment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">4.\u00a0Only three best videos for each category will be selected for the finals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">5. The judges\u2019 decisions are final and any appeal will not be entertained.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">6.\u00a0Submitted entries will be evaluated according to the following criteria and scoring scheme.<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Content\/Use of the theme &#8211; Overall composition of the sketch in relation to the given theme (20%)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Creativity\/Originality (20%)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Entertainment Value \u2013 Audience appeal, overall quality of performance and theme development (10%)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>7. Any plagiarism will be will be penalised\/disqualified.<\/p>\n<h5>E. Prizes<\/h5>\n<p>l. All prizes are not transferable and all participants will be given a Certificate of Participation.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0Participants are allowed to submit more than one entry, but each participant will only qualify for one prize.<\/p>\n<p>3. The prizes for each category are as follows.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Animation<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n1st &#8211; RM2,000.00<br \/>\n2nd &#8211; RM1,500.00<br \/>\n3rd &#8211; RM1,000.00<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Motion Graphic<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n1st &#8211; RM1,000.00<br \/>\n2nd &#8211; RM750.00<br \/>\n3rd &#8211; RM500.00<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">F. Submission Deadline<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">l. All entries must be submitted to ASEAN NCAP latest by <strong>15 May 2018, before 5:00 PM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2.
