Sydney, 23 October 2015<\/em> \u2013 The New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) continues its journey by introducing its first official crash test at Crashlab in Sydney, Australia. This is the fourth lab after MIROS PC3 (Malaysia), JARI (Japan) and KATRI (Korea). Cashlab conventionally has been used by Australasian NCAP (ANCAP) to conduct their series of testing. During this occasion a special meeting was also arranged with the new management of ANCAP represented by its newly appointed CEO, Mr. James Goodwin. \u201cThe meeting was productive and we will continue our smart partnership in future with similar aim of developing safer cars in the future,\u201d said Mr. Khairil Anwar, Secretary-General of ASEAN NCAP.<\/p>\n

“We are not only learning about the technical aspects from ANCAP, but we are also benchmarking the management and its strategy which has made it sustainable since 1993,” said Dr. Sigit Santosa, Technical Committee Member of ASEAN NCAP from Indonesia.<\/p>\n

The crash test was the first official test for ASEAN NCAP conducted at Crashlab. For this test, a pick-up truck has been selected, which makes it the fifth pickup truck to be tested by ASEAN NCAP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
