The most recent addition to these tests is the Forthing Friday, an all-electric SUV manufactured by Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor (DFLZ).<br><br>As part of its debut assessment, ASEAN NCAP conducted tests on both Forthing Friday available powertrains\u2014the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and the Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) variants. The five-seater SUV performed remarkably, earning a <strong>5-Star ASEAN NCAP<\/strong> safety rating with a total score of <strong>87.18 points<\/strong>. The total scores were derived from the four assessment categories introduced under the ASEAN NCAP 2021 \u2013 2025 protocol, which consisted of <strong>the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category with 39.78 points, the Child Occupant Protection (COP) category with 15.26 points, the Safety Assist (SA) category with 17.14 points, and the Motorcyclist Safety (MS) category with 15.00 points<\/strong>.&nbsp;<br><br>The new Forthing Friday is fitted with standard equipment of six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR) for the driver and front passenger, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) City, AEB Inter-Urban, AEB Pedestrian, Blind Spot Detection (BSD) for both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle, Pedestrian Protection (PP) and ISOFIX for child safety seats. Additionally, the electric SUV offers AEB for motorcycles, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), and Lane Keep Assist (LKA) as standard across all its variants. &nbsp;<br><br>ASEAN NCAP is pleased to have received several voluntary requests from Chinese automakers this year to assess their passenger vehicles under the 2021\u20132025 protocol. With Southeast Asia rapidly embracing electric mobility, it is vital that OEMs prioritise safety alongside innovation. We are proud to include Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor (DFLZ) among these proactive manufacturers, as they submitted the Forthing Friday for rigorous evaluation.<br><br>MIROS and ASEAN NCAP applaud DFLZ for submitting both the BEV and REEV variants for assessment under our current protocol. Through these evaluations, DFLZ has proven that its high safety standards are consistent across different electric powertrains. The outstanding results achieved by both versions are a testament to the brand&#8217;s engineering excellence.<br><br>The Forthing Friday\u2019s 5-star performance was bolstered by its advanced suite of safety features to avoid collision with other road users and its robust occupant protection for both adults and children. These results provide regional consumers with the confidence that Forthing Friday meets the highest safety benchmarks in the ASEAN market.<br><br>MIROS and ASEAN NCAP congratulate the DFLZ team on this achievement and look forward to continued collaboration in elevating vehicle safety standards across the region.<br><br>The current ASEAN NCAP 2021\u20132025 assessment protocol encompasses four assessment domains, with AOP accounting for 40.00 points of the overall score, and COP, SA, and MS each contributing 20.00 points. This year, 2025, marks the final year of the 2021\u20132025 assessment protocol.
