The most recent being the eighth series of the Vehicle Safety Course (VSC) 2025\/008 and the ANCHOR V Meeting held at the Ho Chi Minh University of Technology (HCMUT), Vietnam last 29\u201330 July 2025.<br><br>The main objectives of co-organizing the VSC 2025\/008 and ANCHOR V meeting with HCMUT were: i) to promote ASEAN NCAP\u2019s initiatives and increase its awareness in Viet Nam; ii) to disseminate knowledge of occupant injury from vehicle crashes as well as share vehicle safety information to the public in Vietnam; and iii) to explain the ASEAN NCAP\u2019s vehicle star rating and its results interpretation.<br><br>ASEAN NCAP is pleased that the collaboration was a success with about 60 attendees participated in the VSC event. The participants consisted of media representatives in Viet Nam, ANCHOR V researchers from Malaysia and Indonesia, vehicle manufacturers representatives from Thailand and Japan and also HCMUT\u2019s students and faculty members.<br><br>The event began with an opening remark from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Ky Phuong Ha, Vice-President of HCMUT. It was then followed by a welcoming remark from Dr. Fauziana Lamin, MIROS Senior Research Officer and ANCHOR V Program Manager. The first presentation in the agenda was by Dr. Tran Huu Minh from the National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC), Vietnam who gave his presentation titled \u2018Implementing Road Safety Strategies and Action Plans in Vietnam\u2019. ASEAN NCAP was represented by Ts. Nurulhana Borhan in which she presented on the current status of ASEAN NCAP assessment titled \u2018Introduction of ASEAN NCAP 2026\u20132030 Protocols\u2019.<br><br>Additionally, ASEAN NCAP was proud to receive support and cooperation from vehicle manufacturers\u2019 representatives who shared their knowledge and expertise on the benefits and impact of vehicle safety technologies that are currently available in the South-East Asian market. The representatives who were also part of the VSC\u2019s main presenters comprised: (i) Mr. Yasuki Ishiyama of Mitsubishi Motors with his presentation titled \u2018Introduction to Passive Safety\u2019; (ii) Mr. Yoichi Tamura of Toyota Motor Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (TMA), whose presentation titled \u2018Introduction to Safety Assist\u2019; (iii) Mr. Thanakorn Suriyaporn from Honda R&amp;D Asia Pacific Co., Ltd., who presented on \u2018Important Technologies and Activities for Reducing Motorcycle Accidents\u2019; and (iv) Mr. Akira Kanatani, a Member of JAMA Safety Subcommittee of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), gave a presentation on \u2018JAMA\u2019s Safety Initiatives\u2019.<br><br>ASEAN NCAP was happy to have a successful collaboration with HCMUT in organizing VSC 2025\/008 and ANCHOR V Progress Meeting. The events were part of our initiatives to increase the awareness of vehicle safety ratings and the importance of vehicle safety technologies in reducing road fatalities in Vietnam.
