This year, Toyota introduced its latest SUV for assessment under the current 2021\u20132025 ASEAN NCAP protocol.<br><br>The new Toyota Yaris Cross achieved an impressive performance in the assessment, earning a <strong>5-Star<\/strong> ASEAN NCAP rating with an accumulated score of <strong>83.02 points<\/strong>. The total score achieved by the SUV is based on the four assessment categories, consisting of <strong>36.36 points for the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category, 17.32 points for the Child Occupant Protection (COP) category, 16.89 points under the Safety Assist (SA) category and 12.21 points for the Motorcyclist Safety (MS) category.<\/strong><br><br>The Yaris Cross comes equipped with several standard safety features, including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR) for both frontal and rear seat occupants, and Pedestrian Protection (PP). In addition, the 5-seater SUV offers a range of advanced safety assist technologies, such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) for both city and inter-urban conditions, Blind Spot Detection (BSD) on both sides of the vehicle, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), and Auto High Beam (AHB). These advanced features are available as standard or optional equipment, depending on the variant.<br><br>In the assessment, the model provided good protection to the dummy occupants seated inside the vehicle, with the SUV\u2019s frontal compartment remaining stable. Findings from the data showed that there was adequate protection for both occupants\u2019 chests, with the driver receiving marginal protection for the right lower leg. With the launch of its latest SUV, the Yaris Cross, Toyota continues to uphold this commitment by equipping the model with key advanced safety assist technologies, available either as standard or optional features. Toyota\u2019s initiative to include these features reflects its proactive approach to meeting ASEAN NCAP\u2019s current assessment protocol. This year, 2025, marks the final year of the 2021\u20132025 assessment protocol.
