ASEAN NCAP co-organized the one-day course with Politeknik APP, Ministry of Industry and KyFU in which it covered the classroom session and also vehicle demonstration on the safety assist technologies that are currently available in the market.<br><br>Ts. Zulhaidi Mohd. Jawi, Director at the Vehicle Safety and Biomechanics Research Centre (VSC) of MIROS gave the first welcoming remarks to all participants. It was then followed by Ir. Amrin Rapi, Director of Politeknik APP Jakarta and Bp. Syarif Hidayat, former Secretary General at the Ministry of Industry, Indonesia.<br><br>The first presentation for the course was given by Ir. Adrianto Sugiarto Wiyono, who is Politeknik APP\u2019s lecturer and an advisor to PT Karya Fajar Ultima (KyFU). Ir. Adrianto who is also a member of ASEAN NCAP Technical Committee presented the topic of Road Safety in Indonesia. Other presenters who supported the course\u2019s classroom session were Mr. Tetsuya Matsushita from Autoliv, Mr. Katsuya Matsumura of Toyota Daihatsu Engineering and Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (TDEM), Mr. Jun Nakashima from Nissan Motor Asia Pacific, Mr. Bernard Simanjuntak of Bosch, Mr. Hiroyuki Nozaki and Mr. Bunditphong Promsiri, both were from Honda R&amp;D Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. As for the presentations by ASEAN NCAP, they were presented by its Communication Officer, Ms. Salina Mustaffa and Ts. Yahaya Ahmad, ASEAN NCAP Technical Leader.<br><br>In addition to the classroom setting course, a vehicle safety demonstration was also held on two models namely Toyota bZ4X and Honda WR-V. Honda demonstrated the Lane Watch Safety Technology and Child Presence Detection (CPD), while Toyota demonstrated the functionality of Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Blind Spot Technology (BST).<br><br>We were proud to receive about 100 participants for this course comprising the Indonesian media, government officers, automotive sales representatives and automotive component suppliers. ASEAN NCAP was also happy to receive interest and questions from Politeknik APP students who were curious about the vehicle safety technologies that were demonstrated within the polytechnic\u2019s compound. This course was indeed a remarkable accomplishment for ASEAN NCAP as we have successfully reached the critical target audience.
