In addition, the model offers Child Presence Detection (CPD) in which the technology is fitted as standard in all its variants.
ASEAN NCAP is proud that VinFast models have consistently produced outstanding results under the ASEAN NCAP assessment. The VF8 is the fifth model that ASEAN NCAP has assessed and its result has been nothing less than amazing. In this assessment, the 5-seater SUV available in the Vietnam market achieved a perfect score of 20.00 points for the SA pillar which shows VinFast’s commitment in ensuring the model is equipped with a standard fitment of all the assessed technologies. ASEAN NCAP also extends its heartiest congratulations to VinFast for their exceptional effort to include the CPD technology in the SUV. Apart from assuring the occupants are well protected if a crash occurred and also enable the vehicle to avoid collision, the VF8 is also placing priority on the safety of the children travelling inside the vehicle from being accidentally left behind in the car. With CPD, this special technology is able to provide vital alerts to the owner/parents about the presence of their children that were accidentally left inside the vehicle. This will subsequently prevent any dreadful incidences and avert such unavoidable death.
The current ASEAN NCAP 2021-2025 assessment protocol covers four assessment domains with AOP covers 40.00 points of the overall score, and COP, SA and MS make up 20.00 points each of the overall score.
