Kajang, 30 December 2016 – The New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) has just released its new rating protocols for 2017-2020. The new protocols were launched by the Honorable Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai, Minister of Transport Malaysia on 29 November 2016 during the launching of Stop the Crash ASEAN 2016 at Sepang International Circuit. The aim of this new rating system is to encourage more cars with best safety practices in the region. It consists of three domains that are Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), Child Occupant Protection (COP) and Safety Assist. From this rating scheme, instead of a separate rating for AOP and COP, a single rating system is introduced.
The full protocols can be obtained here.
