Ford Ranger received 5-Star Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) for variants with 2 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Seatbelt Reminder (SBR) for both frontal occupants. However, due to the pre-requisites by ASEAN NCAP, variants that are not equipped with ESC and SBR are relegated to AOP 4-Star rating. YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Lee Lam Thye presented the rating plates to Mr. David Westerman, Managing Director of Ford Malaysia and Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, who represented on behalf of Ford.

With the tagline “Our Child, Our Priority”, it is hoped the recently held ASEAN NCAP Child Safety is a starting point for ASEAN NCAP to become a reference point for the public to refer to concerning child safety and child restraint system in vehicles in order to promote the use of CRS for safer mobility of children. Public may forward questions to ASEAN NCAP if they would like to seek advice on CRS selection and installation.
